It is a question that is regularly asked by clients, what news sources to you use for your financial information? In the current climate we have access to countless new sources and all the information that we could possible need, in some cases this can be overwhelming. It’s important to find a few sources that you trust and stick with them.

Over the years I have managed to locate a few credible sources that I would read every morning. It is from here that you have sufficient information to commence the day, as a financial advisor it is part of my job title to know what’s going on where and what’s hot and what’s not. Below is a list of my top sources, some of these might suit you some may not but if you find one of these beneficial then it’s a positive;

• Forex Live (www.forexlive.com)

This is probably my favourite site on the internet. The content is top class and the authors are completely independent and present information in a light-hearted and informal way. The site itself reads very much like a live blog site with updates usually every few minutes.

• Safe Haven (www.safehaven.com)

I have to say if you have a few minutes spare during the course of the day this site will keep you occupied. The content is compiled by a large database of contributing authors and there is a broad array of topics covered. I will however warn investors that some articles can be a bit technical but very relevant none the less.

• Investopedia (www.investopedia.com)

This is a must for all individuals whether you are an expert trader or an individual with little finance knowledge. This site presents itself like a dictionary for financial information containing all you could ever need to know about everything financial.

• IIFT (www.iift.ie/market-new/

This is a daily morning blog written by Peter Brown the main lecturer in the Irish Institute Of Financial Trading. The blog itself is written in a simplistic tone and covers all the main market moving events, whilst giving individuals an opinion of what is likely to take place during the course of the day.

• Twitter (www.twitter.com)

I know this option might not appeal to everyone, but as the old saying goes ‘Don’t knock it until you have tried it’. It is up there with the best overall information feed available to individuals and it is FREE. The main thing behind the platform is to choose the right people to follow and if you follow the right people you will be kept in the know. Some of my favourites include:
